How do you get it?

You catch a cold by transfer of germs. It's a chain reaction; someone touches something, you touch that thing, you don't wash your hands, you touch your face. When someone sneezes or coughs, the virus can remain airborne for hours until it gets inhaled or falls on to a surface. Once the virus gets to you, it goes through your nose, eyes, or mouth. When the virus gets into the respritory tract, it fuses to the plasma membrane where it multiplies. The virus spreads by entering the cytoplasm and the then the nucleus, where imprints itself into the DNA. The virus will stay active for about 1-3 days.
